Indian Premier League commissioner Lalit Modi has confirmed that Bollywood actor Salman Khan has shown interest to buy a new team for the fourth edition of the cash-rich league starting 2011.
Modi said that Salman Khan met him on Wednesday to know about the feasibility of buying an IPL team.
“Salman met me and asked me about the procedure of buying a new IPL team for the fourth edition in 2011,” said Modi in an interview.
Reports said that the Bollywood actor may bid for Kochi Nagpur team.
New teams in the fourth edition will cost between $200 and $300 million.
Salman will join his Bollywood contemporaries Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta to own an IPL team.
