Deccan Chargers eye UP’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar

A stellar show in the recently-concluded Ranji Trophy seems to have done a world of good to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The bowler-batsman, who picked up 31 wickets in nine games, is on the radar of Deccan Chargers.

The 18-year-old UP player sizzled with both bat and ball in the final against Mumbai. He was primarily responsible for Mumbai tottering at 55-4 in the first innings.

That Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Nayar did the rescue act is a different story but the way Kumar ran through Mumbai’s top-order has grabbed a lot of attention.

What’s more, the youngster had also dismissed Sachin Tendulkar for a duck – the legend’s very first in 20 years in the Ranji Trophy.
