Not just the Ranji Trophy, Mumbai cricketers rock in the IPL too. While some of the top players don the Mumbai Indians jersey, the others have found green pastures outside the local franchise.
The latest to join this brigade are pacers Aavishkar Salvi and Murtuza Husain. While Salvi has been signed up by the Delhi Daredevils, Husain has been picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Salvi had played in a Tri-series in Bangladesh in 2003 and was selected for the Australian tour later that year before a back injury ruled him out of the game for three years.
Husain was a regular in the 2007-08 season for Mumbai. He will be third Mumbai cricketer in the KKR ranks after allrounder Ajit Agarkar and left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla.
