Deferring to traditional Punjabi sensibilities Bollywood star Preity Zinta is offering female supporters of her Punjab IPL team customized salwar-kurtas bearing the Kings XI logo.
The second season of IPL is tentatively scheduled between April 10 and May 29, 2009.
“Preity discussed with her designer and created customized salwar kurtas bearing the Kings XI logo for her supporters,” says a source close to the actress.
Preity, 33, wants her supporters to make their presence felt on the field at the IPL matches to be held next year.
“Preity has taken into consideration various aspects before creating the customized costumes for the women supporters. Since the IPL matches are to be held in Punjab Preity opted for Salwar-kameez.”
Preity however put rumors to rest that she was going to screen Heroes for her IPL team.
“It definitely sounds like a good idea. But I would have to make sure that it is subtitled otherwise how would the Aussies (who are a part of her team) understand my Hindi film,” she laughed.
Preity, co-owns the Kings XI Punjab with beau Ness Wadia with the two having paid $76 million for the franchise.
