Mumbai Indians pacer Ashish Nehra back to his land of dreams
It still feels like yesterday for Ashish Nehra. It was a cool Durban night six years back when his magic spell of 6-23 broke England’s back to set up an Indian win.
The world around him has changed quite significantly since then and now Nehra struggles to find a place in the Delhi Ranji team as well. But, the Kingsmead does bring back memories of that special night, and Nehra sounds a touch emotional, recollecting those moments of magic.
“It was definitely a stand-out moment for me in my career. Since the time I have reached Durban, I am being reminded of that day,” Nehra said, standing at the windy Kingsmead.
The medium-pacer bowled quite magnificently that night, and now after six years, he again wants to recreate that old magic.
“Tomorrow, I’m playing here after a long time. I will do my best so that I can repeat that performance. But it’s not easy,” Nehra says putting things in perspective.
