Star batsman Sachin Tendulkar left for London on Tuesday afternoon to consult a foot specialist and have his big toe on the right foot looked, before he gets busy with the Indian Premier League.
Mumbai Indians have clarified that Tendulkar is available to play the entire fifth edition of IPL, contrary to speculation that the batsman will rest because of an injured toe.
Tendulkar will be back in India on March 31 to join the Mumbai Indians training camp. “Sachin will be joining the camp at Wankhede Stadium from March 31 and is available for the entire IPL season 5,” the franchise spokesperson said.
Tendulkar had to miss out on Rahul Dravid’s felicitation on Tuesday because he had a prior appointment with the specialist. Tendulkar had informed the board in advance that he wouldn’t be attending the felicitation.
