The month long trading window of the Indian Premier League is all set to roll, but there seems to be a lack of clarity on the availability of the Pakistan players for the T20 event next year.
According to the sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the top officials are non-committal on the issue as of now and will take a call on it when time comes.
“There’s still three months to go for the IPL to begin. We hope to get their services. If PCB doesn’t allow them to take part, so be it,” an IPL team owner told TOI.
Sources said that the Pakistan players will have to clear some hurdles before they can come to India for the IPL.
First of all, Shoaib Malik & Co need to get a clean chit from the PCB and the government of Pakistan and then complete the visa formalities before touching down in India.
“We don’t know what the Pakistan government’s decision will be after three months,” a BCCI official said.
